Assignment Structure
Volunteers will collaborate in pairs. Each pair will participate in two socio-educational projects organised by El Abrojo.

Volunteers will dedicate:
2 days per week to each of the two projects (total of 4 days).
1 day per week to environmental integration within the organisation.

Main Activities
Language & Training
  • Attend Spanish language classes.
  • Participate in introductory training on environmental education, focusing on local socio-environmental challenges.

Community Engagement
  • Support socio-educational activities with children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Participate in intercultural dialogue workshops to enhance community resilience and develop effective local solutions.

Project Development & Implementation
  • Design and lead collective initiatives using sustainable practices to address environmental challenges.
  • Identify and apply resilience practices using accessible technologies and simple methods.

Environmental Mainstreaming
  • Promote environmental awareness within El Abrojo through team training and sustainable practices.
  • Implement appropriate technologies at the organisation’s main facilities.

Networking & Participation
Take part in inter-institutional events such as:
✓ Children’s Rights Week
✓ National Environmental Education Network gatherings
✓ El Abrojo’s celebrations and community events
✓ Other public engagement and awareness-raising actions
Short-Term

12 February – 13 March 2026 (20 Volunteers)

The one-month volunteer placement is designed for individuals joining the project for a shorter period. This placement focuses on immediate action, supporting ongoing work, and engaging the local community through practical initiatives and awareness efforts.

Activities
  • Quick Onboarding
  • Participate in a focused, rapid training session to ensure readiness for field deployment.
  • Support Ongoing Work
  • Collaborate with long-term volunteers to strengthen and expand already implemented actions.

Facilitate Community Workshops
✓ Organise and deliver workshops on sustainable practices, specifically adapted to local needs and realities.
✓ Engage in Dissemination Activities
✓ Support the SDV project’s outreach and visibility by participating in public events, presentations, and communication activities.
